Nāda Sindhura is a biennial celebration of Carnatic music that brings together legendary maestros, acclaimed performers, and promising young artistes on one stage. Every concert is thoughtfully curated to honour the depth of the tradition while making it accessible and inspiring for today's audiences.
Beyond presenting exceptional performances, Nāda Sindhura recognizes individuals whose lifelong dedication has enriched the world of Indian classical music. Through the prestigious Nāda Kalā Sindhura award, the festival honours exemplary contributions to the art form, celebrating artists whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

Nāda Sindhura – Edition I (2009)
The inaugural edition of Nāda Sindhura marked a significant milestone, celebrating our 100th concert.
Building on the Academy's Udyānavana series, Edition 1 introduced an Artist Incubation initiative, providing a prestigious platform for promising young musicians to perform alongside established artistes and showcase their talent to discerning audiences.
The festival culminated in a grand featured concert by the celebrated Violin Duo, Vidwans Mysore Nagaraj & Dr. Mysore Manjunath, accompanied by the legendary Vidwan Guruvayur Dorai and Vidwan Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma —a rare and memorable collaboration that exemplified the spirit of musical excellence and innovation that Nāda Sindhura seeks to foster.
Nāda Sindhura – Edition II (2015)
The second edition of Nāda Sindhura, held in 2015 at Vivekananda Park, reflected the festival's vision of taking classical music beyond the concert hall and making it accessible to the wider community.
Continuing its commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians, the festival featured performances by emerging young artistes through its Artist Incubation initiative, alongside a vibrant Grand Violin Fusion Concert that captivated audiences.
The festival also honoured the internationally acclaimed violinist Dr. Jyotsna Srikanth with the Nāda Kala Sindhura Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to Carnatic music and her pioneering work in taking Indian classical music to global audiences.
Nāda Sindhura – Edition III (2018)
Nāda Sindhura Edition III, hosted at Samskrita Bharati – Aksharam, marked a landmark moment in the festival's journey as it expanded into a vibrant two-day celebration of Indian classical arts.
The festival opened with the majestic sounds of Nāgaswaram, followed by an inspiring dance presentation by the students of Vidushi Samudhyata Bhat and captivating performances by emerging artistes through the Artist Incubation initiative.
Audiences were treated to an electrifying Percussion Ensemble Concert by Vidwan Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma and team, alongside the exhilarating Khanjira Quartet, making rhythm the heartbeat of the festival.
Adding to the celebrations, the prestigious Nāda Kala Sindhura Award was conferred upon Dr. R.K. Padmanabha, honouring his extraordinary contributions to Carnatic music.
Edition III firmly established Nāda Sindhura as a festival where tradition, talent, and excellence come together in celebration.
Nāda Sindhura – Edition IV (2021)
Returning to Samskrita Bharati – Aksharam, Nāda Sindhura Edition IV continued its successful two-day festival format, bringing together some of the finest exponents of Carnatic music.
The festival featured a captivating Veena recital by Vidushi Yogavandana, a soulful violin concert by Vidushi Nalina Mohan, an engaging vocal concert by Vidushi Shruti S. Bhat, and a stirring performance by Vidwan Srikantham Nagendra Shastry, offering audiences a rich tapestry of musical excellence.
The Nāda Kala Sindhura Award was conferred upon Dr. Nagamani Srinath, honouring her exceptional contributions to Carnatic music as a distinguished vocalist, teacher, and scholar.
Edition IV further strengthened Nāda Sindhura's growing legacy as a festival that celebrates excellence, showcases diverse musical traditions, and brings together artists and rasikas in a shared celebration of Indian classical music.
Nāda Sindhura – Edition V (2023)
Held at Viveka Auditorium, Jayanagar, Nāda Sindhura – Edition V expanded into a three day celebration of Carnatic music, built around the theme "Messages of Social Equality in Carnatic Music."
The festival featured an exceptional line-up of vocal, instrumental, and percussion concerts by renowned artistes including Vidushi Mansi Prasad, Vidwan Ramakrishnan Murthy, Vidwan D. Balakrishna, Dr. Jyotsna Srikanth with the Bangalore String Ensemble, and Vidwan Abhishek Raghuram.
Complementing the performances were engaging Lecture Demonstrations by Dr. T.S. Satyavathi, Vidwan Amit Nadig, and Vidwan Aman Mahajan, along with the innovative "Muktayas on the Fly" by Vidwan B.C. Manjunath and Vidwan Somashekar Jois.
The festival also honoured Dr. T.S. Satyavathi with the Nāda Kala Sindhura Award, recognizing her remarkable contributions as a musicologist, scholar, educator, and vocalist.
Edition V celebrated the harmony of performance, learning, and innovation, reinforcing Nāda Sindhura's vision of making Carnatic music a platform for artistic excellence and meaningful dialogue.
Nāda Sindhura – Edition VI (2025)
Held at Viveka Auditorium, Jayanagar, Nāda Sindhura – Edition VI unfolded as a vibrant two-day festival, celebrating the spirit of innovation within tradition through thoughtfully curated thematic presentations and exceptional artistry.
Festival highlights included Navanādōthkarsha, a thematic Veena presentation by Vidushi Shubha Santhosh and team; The Melodic Triad, featuring Shruti Sagar, Charumathi Raghuram, and Ramana Balachandran; a soulful vocal recital by Dr. Sreeranjini Kodampally; Kaishikee, a thematic dance drama by the students of the Department of Performing Arts, PES University; and a grand concluding vocal concert by Vidwan Abhishek Raghuram.
The festival also conferred the prestigious Nāda Kalā Sindhura Award upon Karnataka Kalashree Smt. Revathi Kamath, honouring her remarkable contributions to fostering harmony and unity through her lifelong dedication to environmental stewardship, social service, cultural preservation, and philanthropy.
Edition 6 reaffirmed Nāda Sindhura's commitment to presenting immersive artistic experiences while celebrating individuals whose contributions extend beyond music to enrich society and culture.
